Building Star Program for Commercial Real Estate

United States Senators Jeff Merkley (D-Oregon) and Mark Pryor (D-Arkansas) introduced a bill on March 4, 2010 that would establish a Building Star program to promote energy efficient installations in commercial, industrial, and multifamily residential buildings. The program is expected to save building owners more than $3 billion on annual energy bills while reducing greenhouse gas emissions in the United States by 21 million metric tons each year.
